The Bowery has entertained millions
Since 1944, The Bowery in Myrtle Beach, has entertained millions of visitors from around the globe. The Bowery bartenders have probably tapped more mugs of beer than just about anywhere else.
The Bowery is across the street from Plyler Park, just a minutes walk from the central part of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk on 9th Ave. North. This is a place that has history and tradition, visitors return to The Bowery year after year because it never changes.
Original home to ALABAMA
Its place in music history is secure thanks to it being the original home of the first Country Music Supergroup, ALABAMA.
ALABAMA was the houseband at The Bowery from 1973 to 1980. On April 21, 1980, ALABAMA signed with music industry giant RCA, the rest is country music history. The band would rack up a string of 21 consecutive number-one hits. 21 more would follow, rewarding the band with 42 number one singles.
Their stay at The Bowery is immortalized in the songs "Tar Top" and "Dancin', Shaggin’ On The Boulevard."
The current house band is The Bounty Hunters, they have been entertaining visitors for the past 8 years with their brand of high energy country rock music.
The walls of The Bowery are plastered full of history with over 70 years of memories and fun. The place is always packed, so it's best to arrive early. Live music Monday to Saturday night, show starts at 8:30.
