Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Strolling along the ocean in Myrtle Beach, the heart of South Carolina’s Grand Strand, just got more interesting. Now you can “Walk the Boards” as people say (in other beach resorts) to walk along the ocean. Myrtle beach just opened a brand new feature just inside the protective dunes of the Atlantic beach - The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade.
Whether its shopping, grabbing a bite to eat, or just relaxing, the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk can fit the bill.
Three sections of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk enable a scenic and protected walkway over a mile long. There are scenic overlooks, places to rest and, of course, a bustling boardwalk shops section. Below are two introductory pictures (sorry, they’ll have to do until we get some more. These are used by permission, with thanks to the Myrtle Beach Road Trip Travel and Leisure web site.
Above is the Merchant’s Plaza area of the New Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. The Merchant’s Plaza was “christened” by an abundance of celebrating graduates during 2010 Myrtle Beach Senior Week.
Plyler Park along the Boardwalk provides a transition between two of the three “sections” of the Boardwalk. Here is a place to relax and enjoy being outdoors in Myrtle Beach on a nice day - enjoying the ocean view and breezes.
