Full Description

Hurricanes, a bar and grill that will be open from breakfast through late night, is under construction in the 2,200-square-foot space that Boardwalk Bills Bar and Grill had occupied for 15 years until it closed in November.

Hurricanes plans to open by mid-May and will feature Fat Tuesday daiquiris, nearly a dozen types of burgers, sweet potato fries, homemade chips, seafood and other items, said Alton Swann, who is opening the restaurant.

In addition to the inside seating area, there will be outdoor seating along the boardwalk for up to 35 patrons, he said.

“It’s going to be a real fun, festive atmosphere,” Swann said.

The restaurant plans to be open for breakfast serving dishes including omelets, French toast, pancakes and mimosas and Bloody Mary drinks. It will stay open all day serving lunch and dinner, planning to close about 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. depending on the crowds.

“I’m really, really excited about the potential the boardwalk has,” Swann said.
